Overall spending by employers and employees on mental health services as a percentage of total spending rose from 6.8% in 2013 to 8.2% in 2020, the report found. The use of the mental health services also increased, especially in outpatient settings.

CarePoint Health, a three-hospital health system in New Jersey, recently filed a lawsuit against RWJBarnabas Health, the largest acute care provider in the state.
