SPONSORED BY NAVINA Physicians are expected to do it all – manage risk, hit quality targets, document everything – and still deliver great care. That's why AI is stepping in as a value-based care copilot, easing cognitive load and surfacing real-time insights when they matter most. On June 24 at 12 PM ET, join Navina and RISE for a live webinar on how AI is changing the game in value-based care (but maybe not in the way you think).
Hear from leaders at AAFP, Jefferson City Medical Group (and others) on how providers are using AI to close care gaps, cut documentation drag, and drive sustainable VBC growth. |

Health Tech Funding Breakdowns |
Nabla's assistant already supports over 85,000 clinicians across 130+ health systems and is now expanding into: - A real-time coding assistant that flags billing issues and nudges documentation as care happens
- A context-aware agent that surfaces historical data and initiates actions inside the EHR
- Expanded tools for nurses and inpatient teams to reduce friction at the frontlines of care
Nabla is already used in health systems and providers like CVS Health, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Denver Health, the University of Iowa Health Care, and Tia Health. Users report that clinical documentation time is cut by more than half, and peer-reviewed studies from University of Iowa Health Care and real-world data from Denver Health confirm significant reductions in clinician burnout and increased patient satisfaction. I wrote a deep dive on Nabla here! HUGE plays in the AI scribe space. |
Commons Clinic Raises $26M and Launches Longevity and Specialty Care-Focused Platform Wholebody |
Sorry Nick, no fancy graphic for you…yet. Still, Commons Clinic is one to watch as it announced a $26M Series B this week and unveiled a new preventive, longevity-focused vertical called Wholebody intended to integrate multi-specialty care (CV, MSK, ortho, GI, etc.) with advanced preventative diagnostics to offer Commons patients a connected experience rather than a bunch of lab tests slapped together along with a hasty telehealth visit. As primary care grows to become an embedded commodity, those players with the assets to deliver a seamless, consumer-oriented experience with integration into specialty care will win the day. Commons Clinic is headed down that path. |
SPONSORED BY SMARTERDX SmarterPrebill isn't your garden-variety AI.
Built by physicians to think like physicians, it scans patient charts to catch missed or incorrect diagnoses before they reach final billing (for more accurate documentation, cleaner claims, and a net new revenue stream). Because it sits at the end of your existing workflows, it catches missing and incorrect diagnoses that would have gone to final billing. That means charts are accurate before claims go out, and every dollar it recovers is fully attributable. $2M in net new revenue per 10K discharges.
5:1 ROI from Day 1.

đ„ đŹ Hospitalogy VBC Retreat |
Value-based care is at a crossroads; in some places, the model's working — elsewhere, it's stalled. That's why I'm hosting the first-ever Hospitalogy VBC Retreat: a one-day strategy reset in Austin with 40 senior leaders working across health systems, ACOs, enablement, and more. We'll dig into what's actually working (and what's not). If you're shaping the next chapter of VBC, apply to attend. |

My favorite reads & resources from the week |
*This read is brought to you by one of my brand partners who help make this newsletter possible! |
My old man and I played in a Father's Day golf scramble and we had the round of our lives. We were tied for the lead at -4 going into our last hole - a short, uphill 299 yard par 4. I hit a decent drive down the right side of the fairway and we're left with around 50 yards in. Of course, with those half swing pitch shots and the ball below my feet, I duffed it. Which put it all on my old man's shoulders…and he came through for us, hitting it to 5 feet and then sinking the putt, securing the victory! I guess that's where I get my clutch gene. Can you imagine shooting 40 on the front 9 at a major event - the U.S. Open no less - and then grinding it out for the win, sinking a 64 foot putt on the 18th hole to seal the victory? What a magical day for JJ Spaun. The drive on 17 will go down in history as one of the most clutch shots at a major championship. I couldn't help but think of Morikawa's drive at the 2020 PGA Championship as a parallel - though in much different circumstances. Also, during the rain delay when NBC aired Tiger's magical 2008 run…I couldn't help but miss the roar of the crowds from that era. It just isn't the same. |
